Vintage Hunter Whiskey First Over The Bar-No Broken Parts & has Not Been Painted
Has several matriculated parts. The arm holding the hat move up and down, but does not stay in the up position. The horse appears to move slightly off the base as a matriculation feature.
I have included pictures of the seams in the top of the base. They first appear to be cracks but are actually how the piece was created and constructed.
The patina is very nice…looks bronze, gold or brown depending on spots and lighting. I wouldn’t paint it, but some people do.
It appears that some were made as statues and the same mold was used to create lamps. The lamps have holes drilled in the base and are attached to the arm. This piece looks to always have been intended as a statue due to no visible holes in the base or any wear from welding to the arm. The lamps also appear to have been painted a greenish hue.
If you’re looking for a complete in tact piece that doesn’t need repairs, this one fits the bill!
Thus was an advertising piece for Hunter Rye Whiskey.
