Description
This item is a used fully operational Bico Braun WD Chipmunk jaw crusher on a custom stainless steel heavy duty cart with a built in chute. The unit is capable of reducing friable materials (e.g. most rocks) as large as 2 3/8" x 4" in size down to ~1/4" rubble. The crushed material will flow down the chute into a bag or bucket placed under the chute. The foot print of the unit on the cart is ~44" x 28" with a height of ~58". The unit was cleaned but likely contains ceramic debris and some dirt. The condition is consistent with moderate use.The motor is 3HP and the unit comes with manganese steel jaw plates. The unit was totally rebuilt several years ago and has seen moderate use since then with lubrication (very important) carried out after each use. The manual, diagrams, and product information are available at the Bico website. The motor is 208V 3 phase. The unit comes with a start and emergency stop switch mounted to the cart and the appropriate heavy duty plug. The cart and plug allow the unit to be easily moved when required. The unit worked well when last used and crushed hard ceramic materials with no issues.
The Chipmunk was designed for long and efficient use. Manganese steel plates are one of the best jaw plate materials available. They wear harden with use and were engineered for hard materials and long life. I believe both jaw plates on this unit are manganese steel, although the manufacture recommends the use of a manganese for only the stationary plate for hard ores (presumable they recommend the use of standard steel for the moving plate). The previous user had no issues with the jaw plates or anything else, but should you need/want a standard plate or other parts, they are available from Bico. The discharge opening at the bottom of the jaws is adjustable down to 1/32" to control crushed particle size. Bico states a capacity of 800lbs/hour. We will ship free FedEx economy freight within the lower 48 states.
